Electronics Hardware Design Engineer

We at ALTEN are looking for an experienced Electronics Hardware Design Engineer who wants to work on the development of power systems and electronic components for advanced products. The role involves a broad technical responsibility where you will be involved throughout the entire development chain – from requirements work, design, and simulation to production and testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Electronics Designer, you will work on the design and layout of electronic boards. Before the design is sent to the Electronics Manufacturer Service (EMS), you will simulate the work to detect any errors. Once the files are sent to EMS, you will follow up on production, test the received boards, and be responsible for documentation (HDD, PTS, etc.) and communication with EMS – all important parts that ensure the product works in the end.

• Manage and analyze requirements
• Investigate and compare different design solutions
• Construct power solutions (AC/DC, DC/DC) and electronic boards
• Work with cabling and electrical interfaces
• Integrate, simulate, and verify technical solutions (Pi Spice, Orcad Cadence, Catia Electric)
• Test and troubleshoot boards and systems after receipt from EMS
• Documentation (HDD, PTS, etc.) and communication with EMS
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog management via JIRA
• Collaborate with mechatronics teams, systems engineers, and external resources
• Support product certification and EMC testing

ARE YOU THE ONE WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

• Experience and competence in electrical design and hardware design
• Ability to make design choices for components such as fuses, cabling, relays, connectors, terminals, etc.
• Experience in writing requirements and design specifications
• CAD competence, preferably Orcad Cadence, Mentor, or similar EDA tools
• Experience in analog and digital electronics, motor control, and power systems
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal and external partners
• Knowledge of EMC
• Fluent in Swedish and good knowledge of English
• Ability to follow established processes and guidelines, as well as handle defense confidentiality
